Amit Shah to visit Haryana tomorrow, to address people in Hooda’s citadel Rohtak

Amit Shah will inaugurate the Rs 325-crore Sabar Dairy Plant -- India’s largest production facility for curd -- at IMT Rohtak and distribute tool kits to 2,200 artisans during the ‘Khadi Karigar Mahotsav’ at Maharshi Dayanand University.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Haryana on Friday, October 3, where he will inaugurate the Rs 325-crore Sabar Dairy Plant at IMT Rohtak as part of efforts to promote the cooperative sector, and distribute tool kits to 2,200 artisans during the ‘Khadi Karigar Mahotsav’ at Maharshi Dayanand University.

Shah will also address a public gathering in Rohtak, considered a stronghold of the State’s Leader of Opposition and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately Rs 825 crore in Kurukshetra.

“The facility with state-of-the-art machinery is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for nearly 1,000 people. The Sabar Dairy plant is India’s largest production facility for curd, buttermilk, and yogurt, with a daily capacity of 150 metric tonnes of curd, 3 lakh litres of buttermilk, 10 lakh litres of yogurt, and 10 metric tonnes of sweets,” a Haryana government spokesperson said.

The ‘Khadi Karigar Mahotsav’ at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, where Shah will distribute modern machinery and tool kits, along with Rs 301 crore as margin money under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission under the Ministry of MSME. The event is themed ‘Swadeshi Se Swaavlamban’. Besides, Shah will inaugurate PMEGP units, a Central Puni plant, and Khadi Gramodyog Bhawans.

In Kurukshetra, Shah will inaugurate a five-day exhibition on India’s new criminal laws. “The exhibition aims to help lawyers, students, parents, and common citizens understand recent reforms in the criminal justice system. The exhibition will showcase the changes and achievements brought about by the new laws and highlight the roles of seven different departments, divided into 10 thematic sections,” the government spokesperson said.

The exhibition will explain the direct benefits of the new legal framework, including speedy trials, use of modern technology, and quicker case resolutions.

In Kurukshetra, Amit Shah will launch development projects worth Rs 825 crore aimed at strengthening Haryana’s infrastructure and opening up new avenues for public welfare. “The projects are expected to accelerate Haryana’s progress, create employment opportunities, and empower the youth. Both the Central and state governments are working together to raise living standards and set new benchmarks of development, and this occasion will mark an important milestone in that journey,” a government spokesperson said.
