Ambanis may give Indo-French CEO forum a miss

UT home secretary Anurag Aggarwal said they had not received confirmation from Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani and Sanjay Kirloskar.

Industrialists Mukesh and Anil Ambani have not confirmed their participation in the Indo-French CEO forum scheduled to be held at Taj hotel Sunday.

However, several other big names such as Rajan Bharti Mittal, vice chairman and managing director of Bharti Enterprises; Dhruv M Sawhney, chairman & MD Triveni Engineering;Onkar Kanwar, Chairman, Apollo Tyres; Hari S Bhartia, co-chairman and founder Jubilant Bhartia Group; Rajiv Lall, managing director and vice chairman of Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC); and Dr Rajiv Modi, chairman and managing director, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, have confirmed their participation in the event.

Till late evening on Saturday, CII had received confirmation of 13 participants which included P S Jayakumar, CEO, Bank of Baroda; and Chandrajit Banerjee, director-general of CII.

This is the eighth edition of the Indo-French CEO Forum. French president Francois Hollande, accompanied by six ministers and strong contingent of French businessmen will participate in the event, which is being organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Anil Ambani, chairman of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group; Sanjay Kirloskar, chairman of Pune-based Kirloskar Group and Adi Godrej, chairman of the Godrej Group, Mukesh Ambani, chairman, managing director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL); and Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra were expected to attend the event.

A total of 15 leading French businessmen have confirmed their participation in the event They include Elisabeth Borne, president-general director of RATP; Patrice Caine, chief executive Thales; Loic Armand, president, L’Oréal France; Eric Trappier, president Dassault Aviation and Thierry Lepercq, president of Solairedirect.

Chandigarh, Nagpur and Puducherry will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Agence Francaise D Development (AFD), a French government agency, for providing technical assistance for developing them into Smart Cities.
