The Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday declared that it was in a state of full preparedness for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state. “In fact,we are eagerly looking forward to it. Our cadre is raring to have a go at the anti-people and anti-Punjab Congress party in the state which in any case is in a state of utter confusion,” said party secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. He was reacting to reports that elections in Punjab might be held on February 13. In a statement here,Dhindsa claimed an “unprecedented landslide win for the SAD-BJP alliance, more powerful than even the 1997 sweep.” He added that there was a powerful “Badal wave” throughout the state, reinforced by strong ‘pro-development sentiment’.
