Akshay Kumar,Ghuggi in town to promote Bhaji in Problem

The PVR Elante Mall saw a bevy of stars,both Bollywood and Punjabi,stopping by to promote this weeks Punjabi release Bhaji in Problem.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar,who has turned first time producer for a Punjabi film and has a cameo role in the movie as well,came with Gurpreet Ghuggi,Gippy Grewal and producer Ashwani Yardi. According to Kumar,stepping into the Punjabi industry was more for emotional reasons. This is my home. I feel connected to Punjab and I am not here to make money or take advantage of the boom the industry is witnessing, said Kumar,who wants to make more regional films.

Also,under the production house Grazing Goat Kumar has done a Kannada film. Along with Ghuggi,Kumar is now exploring another subject related to Punjab and its youth,one that takes up the issue of drugs and violence.

Meanwhile,Ghuggi feels Punjab is currently only playing with comedies because there are no producers. We are making films with producers who invest once,make their money and are out. We need dedicated,passionate producers and filmmakers who are able to fuel and sustain different kinds of cinema and subjects, he said.

As for Yardi,she is floored by the Punjabi expression,wit and humour. She had not even heard the entire story or read the script and gave a thumbs up for backing it, added Ghuggi.

Bhaji in Problem,which also stars Ragini Khanna and Om Puri,will be out in theaters today.
