They’ve cut a very long line short. This time,if you’re gunning to be a roadie, but loathe the entire idea of standing for hours in a queue and braving a ferocious round of group discussion, then brace yourselves for your prayers have been answered – the auditions for season seven of MTV Roadies will be held online post which only the shortlisted candidates from five select cities will be called for the one and final interview. “Isn’t that great,” VJs Bani and Varun, city’s very own bratpack, applaud the new format. There’s more – “Instead of Raghu and Rajiv (we’re still not clear on their attendance),7.0 will have Irrfan Khan as an additional host, the one who introduces the seven deadly sins to the 13 contestants,” tells Bani. Unlike previous formats where the twists were many and unknown, this time, there’ll be seven twists in the show, and Irrfan will educate the contestants on it. Why Irrfan? “Because his son’s a huge roadie fan,and got Irrfan hooked to the show!” Bani adds the final and most important piece of news: the African Safari. That’s right – after braving the creepy crawlies in Malaysia, facing fear in Australia,MTV Roadies season seven will pack its bags and travel to Africa! “The journey begins from Bhuj in Gujarat and will fly to North Africa covering Egypt,Kenya and Tanzania,” informs Bani, wishing she was a part of this trip! Of course VJ Rannvijay will tag along, and so will the entire MTV crew. And yes,the three winners of Battleground Roadies will also be called in for the interview round. “The seventh season will be the deadliest, whackiest, wildest ride ever,” promises Ashish Patil,GM,MTV India and Senior Vice President,Creative and Content. If you want to register, then sms Roadies to 56882 or log on to http://www.mtvindia.com/roadies. “You’ll have all the time this time to fill in your form,” says Varun. And the code cracker is? “Be yourself,” they say. But don’t forget what Irrfan has to say: “Beware of what lies ahead!”
