He is one of the leading young exponents of the Kirana Gharana,with an illustrious lineage to boast of. On September 9 and 10,Hindustani vocalist Pandit Kaivalya Kumar Gurav,will regale audiences with his fluid and high pitched tenor voice. Trained by his father,Pandit Sangmeshwar Gurav,Pandit Kaivalya comes from Dharwad,Karnataka,and has achieved the title of Surmani.

Owing to a rich ancestry — his grandfather Ganpatrao Gurav studied under two legends,Pandit Bhaskarbua Bhakle and Ustad Abdul Karim Khan — Pandit Kaivalya is a treasure house of unusual compositions.
