A food festival by the name of August Moon might sound mistimed in September but its not. Also referred to as the Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival,it is a popular harvest festival celebrated in China,Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar,during a full moon,which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. As per this years calendar it will fall on September 19. Keeping in mind the Chinese tradition,we will serve authentic cuisine, said Gaurav Taneja,General Manager,Park Plaza Chandigarh. The hotels Chinese specialty restaurant,The Oriental Blossom,has put together a special menu as part of the festival that is an ode to the successful reaping of rice and wheat with food offerings. The focus is definitely on Schezwan fare and the highlights include dishes such as Crispy fried fish with sweet lemon chili,Chilli garlic wontons and Stuffed eggplant with hot garlic sauce. Also a part of the month-long festival is a line-up of traditional desserts. The festival is on till September 30.
