26-year-old alleges gangrape

She told the police that on Sunday,she was asked to come to the Sector-39 park by Pankaj at 10 pm.

Pankaj left her there in the company of his friend Sandeep,who raped her by taking her to the deserted area near the park,she said.

After raping her,Sandeep took her to a park near Sector 44-C where Pankaj was waiting for them along with his another friend,who is unknown to the victim. All the three reportedly took her to a house near the park and raped her through the night. The accused fled in the morning.

The victim later called up the police control room. The police took her for a medical examination which confirmed that she was drunk.

The police have registered a case of gangrape under Section 376 (2 (G) of the Indian Penal Code against Pankaj Thakur,Sandeep and an unidentified person at the Sector-34 police station.

Sector-39 police shrugs off case
While the alleged incident first took place near the park in sector 39,sources said that the police of the Sector-39 police station were quick to pass the case to Sector-34 police station.

They reportedly asked their counterparts in Sector 34 to investigate the case as the alleged gangrape occurred in Sector 44,which falls in the jurisdiction of Sector-34 police station.
