2 cases of kidnapping lodged in Manimajra

The UT Police on Sunday registered two cases of kidnapping following complaints by family members after four people were reported missing. Both the cases have been registered at Manimajra police station

The UT Police on Sunday registered two cases of kidnapping following complaints by family members after four people were reported missing. Both the cases have been registered at Manimajra police station.

In the first case,a resident of NAC,Manimajra alleged that unknown persons kidnapped his son,daughter-in-law and grandson on August 15 when they had gone to IT Park. “We have put their number on surveillance and have also asked the service provider for the call details,” a police official said.

In the other case of alleged kidnapping,a complaint was filed in Manimajra police station by a tailor who works in Sector 18,Chandigarh. He alleged that his three-year-old daughter was kidnapped from outside his house on August 17 when she was playing with other children.

A case was registered under Section 363 (punishment for kidnapping ) of the IPC.

According to the complainant,his daughter was playing along with other children of the locality near her house when she went missing on August 17.

A case under Section 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder ) of IPC has been registered against unknown persons. According to the police,the complainant,Ashwin Kohli filed a complaint alleging that his son Manu Kohli (32) along with his wife Riya (27) and son Abhishek (5) went missing on August 15 .
