100 stranded due to snow,2 dead

After Saturday’s record snowfall,the tourists reaching famous destinations of Himachal Pradesh like Dalhousie in Chamba district had to face inconvenience after disruption of roads on Sunday.

After Saturday’s record snowfall,the tourists reaching famous destinations of Himachal Pradesh like Dalhousie in Chamba district had to face inconvenience after disruption of roads on Sunday.

Over 100 tourists are reportedly stuck at Dalhousie,Khajjiar and Chamba.

Police said two people also lost their lives in Chamba district after they were hit by lightning.

Chamba Deputy Commissioner Shrab Negi said the entire Chamba district had experienced moderate to heavy snowfall since Saturday. The road link to Dalhousie and Chamba remained cut off due to heavy snowfall near Banikhet.

Efforts were underway to clear the snow on the road to Chamba and Dalhousie.

In Manali and Shimla,the tourists kept pouring in. “It’s definitely a good time for us,thanks to snow and increased movement of tourists,” said Sachin,a hotelier at Manali.

The Rohtang Pass,located on the Manali-Leh highway,experienced heavy snowfall on Saturday and on Sunday as well,said the weatherman.
