Three arrested for transporting Rs 47 L without documents

The accused reportedly told the police they got the money after selling a residential site but could not produce any proof for their claim.

Three persons have been arrested by the Amruthahalli police on Friday for allegedly transporting Rs 47 lakh in cash without documents. The accused were identified as Nagendra Kumar of Pantharapalya, Jeevan Sagar of JB Nagar and Raghu Raj of Uttarahalli, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-east) TR Suresh said.
He said the police received credible information about the transportation of a large amount of cash in an SUV on the Outer Ring Road near Hebbal. The accused however had some suspicion and hence changed their route. The police team managed to nab them in Frazer Town.

The police have registered a case and seized the money. “We are interrogating the accused to ascertain the source of money and whether it belongs to any political party,” an officer said.
