Karnataka man kills minor girlfriend’s mother and brother for refusing marriage; arrested

A police officer said they received a distress call from villagers, and when they reached the spot, they found the bodies of the woman, 45, and her son, 18, in a pool of blood. The police said the suspect allegedly killed the woman and her son, and eloped with the minor girl.

While gathering initial information, the police got to know the woman’s daughter was missing and feared that she could be in danger. They later learnt that the girl was seen with a man from the same village. The police rushed to the man’s residence who tried to escape but caught him.

During questioning, he told the police the suspect had visited the woman’s house to speak about the marriage proposal. He also had taken his bike to leave the village. The police later arrested the suspect from his house, and found the girl there.

The police said the suspect, who is 15 years older than the girl, approached her family multiple times seeking to marry her. However, citing the age difference the family had refused his proposal.

A police officer said they have registered a murder case against the suspect, and taken him in custody for further investigation.
