Bengaluru man who kissed, hugged 2 women in public arrested
Madan, a 37-year-old unemployed man, was arrested on charges of sexual harassment and assault with intent to outrage modesty.

The Bengaluru police on Tuesday arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing two women in public in separate incidents in the city’s Pulakeshinagar area last week.
The police identified the accused as Madan, a BSc Computer Science graduate from Banaswadi. He used to work in a software company but had recently quit his job, the police added.
According to the police, the first incident occurred on June 6 when Madan allegedly forcefully kissed a woman standing near a grocery store on Milton Street before fleeing. He then proceeded to a nearby park where he allegedly followed another woman and inappropriately hugged her from behind.
In both instances, the women filed police complaints, leading to an FIR under sections 74 (assault with intent to outrage modesty) and 75 (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police later identified Madan through CCTV footage from the area.
D Devaraja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), said that they had information that Madan engaged in similar acts in the area.
While investigating officers said that Madan has remained uncooperative and tight-lipped about the incidents during questioning, sources alleged he was addicted to pornography.
The police said an investigation was on to determine if he was involved in similar acts in the past.
The arrest has highlighted ongoing concerns about women’s safety in public spaces across Bengaluru, prompting calls for enhanced security measures.
