Karnataka bypolls: 3 seats record 81.84% voter turnout, shows data
Following a pitched campaign during the past two weeks, Congress, BJP and JD(S) are looking to retain their seats in the bypoll.

The three constituencies where bypolls were held on Sunday recorded an average voter turnout of 81.84 per cent, according to data from the State Election Commission.
Channapatna, which is witnessing a pitched battle between NDA alliance candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy and Congress candidate C P Yogeshwar, had the highest polling percentage of the three constituencies with 88.8 per cent. This surpassed the 85.86 per cent polling recorded in the seat during the 2023 Assembly polls.
At Shiggaon, where BJP has fielded MP and former CM Basavaraj Bommai’s son Bharat Bommai against Yasir Pathan, the total voter turnout was 80.48 per cent. Sandur, an ST reserve constituency, had a turnout of 76.24 per cent. In the segment, Congress MP E Tukaram’s wife Annapurna is contesting against Bangaru Hanumantha of the BJP.
Following a pitched campaign during the past two weeks, the three parties are looking to retain their seats in the bypoll. Initial trends have hinted at the same, with Nikhil – who is contesting in the seat vacated by his father and Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy – considered the favourite from Channapatna.
