Upset over her husband not coming home for tea, a woman in Vadodara allegedly tried to hang herself during a video call with him.

After a case was registered at the Vadodara Taluka Police Station, a probe was initiated into the matter on Saturday, said officials.

The woman is said to be critical and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to the ‘note case’ filed by the police, the incident occurred on Thursday evening when the 28-year-old woman allegedly made a video call to her husband who is a doctor with a city-based hospital, and allegedly tried to hang herself when he did not return home for tea.

Deputy Superintendent of Police BH Chavda of Vadodara Rural division, said, “The couple has been married for over a year. We noted the case as per the statement of her husband . The woman is critical and undergoing treatment….”
