Government Railway Police today arrested two railway employees from Chanakyapuri area of the city for duping a deputy station master of Rs 46,000 after promising him a monthly return of Rs 11,000 on the amount that they said would be invested in a mutual fund company.

Kishore Natwar Zala,a deputy station master at the Vadodara Railway Station, had on Thursday filed a complaint saying his colleague Sandeep Jawarhalal Soni, also a deputy station master, had promised him a total return of Rs 13.23 lakh while taking from him Rs 46,000 as initial investment.

“Zala realised that Soni did not make him sign any documents while asking him to register with the website of a mutual fund company Swiss Mutual Funds, which is under probe for other frauds. Later,he filed a complaint against Soni and his accomplice Manoj Brahmbhatt, both railway employees,” said Inspector B M Tank of the GRP.

The duo has been remanded to police custody for four days.
