Students from the US have,in recent years, increasingly shown preference for IIM-A as a study destination, while IIM-A students have traditionally preferred b-schools in Europe for further studies.

This was revealed by Ishita Solanki, who is the Manager of Global Partnerships at IIM-A. She said the trend has been evident in the two years of her heading the department.

Only last week, the IIM-A signed a partnership with the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, and first priority has been given to student exchanges. As per it,both institutes will be using case study methods of teaching. A faculty fellowship programme is also in the pipeline.

The exchange programme would begin immediately,Solanki said, adding that students from Darden will be attending class at IIM-A this September.

The premier b-school of the country also has a tie-up with the Ohio State University.

Around the same time, partnerships were also forged with the University of Melbourne and a university from Ethiopia.

At present,IIM-A has roughly 50 working partnerships with different b-schools across the world.
