State BJP chief seeks report on MLA Kalsaria

The state BJP leadership has asked its Bhavnagar unit to submit a report on the activities and recent record of Mahuva MLA Dr Kanu Kalsaria in the backdrop of his campaign against the proposed cement plant in his constituency.

The state BJP leadership has asked its Bhavnagar unit to submit a report on the activities and recent record of Mahuva MLA Dr Kanu Kalsaria in the backdrop of his campaign against the proposed cement plant in his constituency.

State BJP president R C Faldu on Sunday said: “We have asked the Bhavnagar district unit to send its report because whatever has come out so far against him (Dr Kalsaria) has come from outside the party forum and no complaint as such has come from party workers.”

Party’s Bhavnagar unit chief Babubhai Jebaliya, however, said they have “no such instruction to send any specific report” on Dr Kalsaria. He said they would prepare a dossier on him as and when the state leaders instruct them to,adding that sending such reports to the state unit is a “routine” process.

Dr Kalsaria, who is busy preparing for a convention at Doliya village near the proposed plant site (which is said to be in the middle of a lake),remains firm on his stand. “I have removed myself from the BJP,which is going to suffer heavily in Bhavnagar in the coming elections,” he said on the possible disciplinary action against him.

Former state finance minister Sanat Mehta will address the convention, which is likely to be attended by Congress leaders like Kunvarji Bavalia and Punjabhai Vansh among others.
