Soon,next-gen therapy for erectile dysfunction

Ahmedabad: An arm of Ahmedabad-based Zydus Cadila will soon launch a next generation therapy for erectile dysfunction (ED),a common disorder that is found to affect 52 per cent of the men in the age group of 40 and above.

A speciality division of the company,Zydus Urosciences,will be launching the molecule under the brand name Udzire. The group has an licence to market this patented molecule developed by Dong-A Pharmaceuticals of Korea,the company stated in a release here on Wednesday.

Currently,only two molecules — sildenafil and tadalafil — from this group are available for the treatment of ED in India. The new molecule,Udenafil,has been found efficacious in the treatment of various causes and severity of ED with no muscle or vain pain being reported during clinical trials.
