The Jamnagar police arrested six men in connection with an alleged gangrape of a 17-year-old girl,on Sunday evening. Inspector B C Modi identified one Mehul Rawal as the main accused,who had lured the girl to accompany him and his friends to Jamnagar and then to Mumbai where they gangraped her.
We have arrested them based on a complaint filed by the victims mother at Ahmedabad Womens police station on Saturday, Modi said,adding that a team will be sent to Mumbai to arrest a seventh person named in the complaint.
According to the complaint,the victim was gangraped several times between August 21 and 26 in Jamnagar and Mumbai,and the act was captured on cellphone cameras by the accused.
On August 21,the girl had boarded a private bus to Ahmedabad where Mehul befriended her and convinced her to come with him. He took her to Jayant Society where he and four of his friends gangraped her. Later,they took her to Mumbai where another man named Michael joined them and gangraped her.
