Schools find innovative ways to welcome tense students

With dozens of inspection squad and police security outside the school building adding up to the examination tension,many schools used novel ways to relieve the students of their stress. Many schools welcomed the students with tilak,arti,prashad,chocolates and flowers before they entered the school premise,while others used innovative methods to divert the student’s attention from stress and fear.

One such school had a student’s musical band to put the students at ease. Students and parents standing outside the school gate were caught by surprise when they were ushered in to the beat of drums. “We wanted to divert their attention from all the stress and tension before the examination. They were so curious as to what the band members would do and perform that they seemed much relaxed,” said Girija Raina,Principal of the Jay Ambe Vidyalay.

In other schools,the students entered even as their parents perched themselves high on boundary walls to pass on the last piece of good luck wish before the exam. Some parents inquired from the police detailed for security on whether their children will have to undergo any strict inspection before the exam,while others tried to hide their anticipation. “This is the first time I am encountering the board fever. My eldest son will take the board exams. Though I am trying to remain calm,I am seriously tensed,” said Rita Shah,a parent outside the exam venue.
