RMC starts QR code for validity

Starting Friday, the birth, death and marriage certificates issued by the RMC will have a unique code which can be validated using a phone application called QR code scanner.

In a first of its kind service in the country by any government body, the documents issued by Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) can now be validated by citizens or authorities through a unique Quick Response (QR) code,an application so far used by multinationals and IT companies for the validity of the information.

Starting Friday, the birth, death and marriage certificates issued by the RMC will have a unique code which can be validated using a phone application called QR code scanner.

“Now,any citizen can validate certificate issued by the RMC using the code. This will be very helpful in validating passport and other official documents, minimising chances of fraud or fake documents usage,” said RMC Commissioner Ajay Bhadoo.

This Municipal Service Validation Code has come under Responsive Intelligent Transparent and Effective (RITE) e-Governance Project.
