Placements at MICA record 12% jump in median CTC

Top 50% students bagged average CTC of 23.82 lakh per annum; highest number of offers was made by the analytics, banking and consulting sector.

Prominent business school MICA, Ahmedabad, recorded 100 per cent placement with an increase of 42 per cent in the average package since 2021 for the 28th batch of its flagship PGDM and PGDM-Communications programme. The institute also recorded a 12 per cent increase in its median annual Cost to Company (CTC), from Rs 17 lakh last year to Rs 19 lakh this year.

The placement process also witnessed a steep increase in new recruiters. A total of 77 companies partnered with MICA of which 56 per cent were new recruiters. The institute has also seen increased pre-placement offers (PPOs) through summer placements and corporate competitions. A total of 31 students bagged the PPOs.

The highest number of offers was made by the analytics, banking and consulting sector (39 offers), while IT sector offered 31 jobs and FMCG 30.

While the average CTC at the premier institute for strategic marketing and communications went up from Rs 14 lakh in 2021 to Rs 20 lakh this year, the average CTC of the top 50 per cent of the students this year was 23.82 lakh, MICA said in a statement.

Dr Shailendra Raj Mehta, MICA president and director, said that the average CTC and median CTC has significantly gone up. “It is the testimony to our students who bring in innovative and creative solutions with an emphasis on critical and creative thinking, proving their mettle in organisations. The strong connect with the MICA alumni has been a pillar of enduring support to the institute,” Dr Mehta said.

“The steep increase in the number of new recruiters confirms that MICA students are well ahead of the curve,” said Dr Githa Heggde, dean of MICA.

The companies offered jobs in various posts including analyst loyalty marketing, digital marketing manager, management trainee, growth marketing manager, content marketing manager, segmentation and revenue management, future leaders programme- procurement, assistant brand manager, seo brand manager, program management lead, etc.
