Panchayat exam board announces helpline to report irregularities

The examination will be held at more than 3,000 centres across the state and 9.53 lakh candidates have got themselves registered for the same.

As Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB) is scheduled to hold recruitment examination for the post of Junior Clerk across the state on April 9, the board Wednesday announced helpline numbers for candidates to inform it if they come across any irregularities.

The examination will be held at more than 3,000 centres across the state and 9.53 lakh candidates have got themselves registered for the same. In a release issued Wednesday, GPSSB stated that The Gujarat Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2023 which was passed in Gujarat Assembly recently has come in force from March 3. The release added that with the Act, hands of the authorities conducting public examinations have been strengthened to prevent elements who intend to do irregularities in such examinations. The examination for junior clerk was cancelled on January 29 after a question paper leaked.
