No evening water supply for 3 weeks from May 25

Ahmedabad residents will not receive their evening water supply from the Kotarpur water works for three weeks starting May 25,the AMC has said.

A decision to this effect was taken at the Standing Committee meeting here on Thursday.

According to the officials,the cut has been enforced to carry out the repair works in the low-lying areas of Kadana Dam from where the water is sourced through the Raska pipeline.

At present,the city gets 200 Million Litres Daily (MLD) from the Raska lines and another 200 MLD from Jaspur off S G Highway,besides 450 MLD from the Kotarpur water works which is sourced from the Narmada Canal.

The committee did not rule out a possibility of a cut in the morning supply time in view of the repair works. It said that for two days,June 7 and 8,all areas under the New West Zone will not get any water from the civic supply sources.
