NGO to help organise ‘Run for Unity’

One of the moderators of the event,Shagun Gupta,a former investment banker with JM Financial,said that organising “Run for Unity” was the next event CAG had taken up. CAG has uploaded the logo of “Run for Unity” on its website. The event is a part of Modi’s “Statue of Unity” drive to erect the tallest statue in the world in Narmada district.

“The way Sardar Patel integrated the country politically,‘Run for Unity’ will integrate the country with thoughts,” Gupta said. He is among the core team of CAG who graduated from the Indian Institute of Management,Ahmedabad,in 2011,after his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology,Delhi,in 2009.

When asked that an NGO chipping in for an event that has political undertones,Gupta said,“We are working for the event as social mobiliser so that every individual can participate. We have nothing to do with the political agenda,but the thought behind it. We will not let the political parties colour our views. Sardar Patel is the most important thing for us who has done a lot for the country.”

CAG launched its Ahmedabad Chapter along with Bhopal,Visakhapatnam and Ranchi.
