Munna Bharwad murder: Main accused arrested

Inspector M R Chawda of the Khatodara police station said: “The motive behind the murder was an old monetary dispute between the two. Laxman had brought Munna to Surat from his native place in Surendranagar district. He was running a property dealing business in Surat,which Munna joined later. After a while,Munna began working independently. We are interrogating Laxman to find out more details in the case.”of gangster Munna Bharwad,from Vadodara on Tuesday in connection with the latter’s murder. Lakshman was produced before a court,which remanded him in police custody till November 7.

According to the details received,Munna Bharwad,a history-sheeter,was killed by five men when he was on his way home from a nearby temple on August 3. During investigation,the police found that Lakshman had hired assassins to eliminate Munna. The police arrested six people in the case,but the main accused,Lakshman,was absconding all the while. The Khatodara police claimed that they had received information about Lakshman’s presence near the Savli chokdi area in Vadodara,following which a police team went there and nabbed him.
