Mumbai chic

The very private Deol family gave up their inhibitions and stood under the spotlight to support daughter-in-law Tania Deol’s furniture exhibition,Jewels in the Forest,at the Good Earth store in Lower Parel,Mumbai. Dressed in a satin dress with a “forest-y” digital print,the hostess,with hubby Bobby in tow,looked gorgeous as ever as she received each guest personally. Bollywood made its presence felt as Twinkle Khanna,Sonali and Goldie Behl,Farhan Akhtar,and Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder joined in. Sunny and Dharmendra turned up too.

But what surprised us was to see Abhishek Bachchan (sans wife) and Rani Mukherjee at the same do. Steering clear of each other most of the time,the two did exchange pleasantries. Others on the guest list included Good Earth’s Beenu Bawa’s friends Haseena Jethmalani,Simone and Fahad Samaar,Surily Goel,Nandita Mahtani and Sheetal Mallar.

Tania’s collection too looked as spectacular as she did— sensible with simple,straight lines with elements of surprise,like ornate flowers made with semi-precious stones to jazz the pieces up.

Showstopper Dressed in a black checkered shirt with jeans,Bobby,the ever-so-perfect husband,came in early to lend a hand to his designer wife. But we sorely missed man-of-the-moment Abhay Deol whom everyone present was hoping to bump into at the do.
