Two of a family were charred to death in a blast at a lathe factory near Odhav gurudwara on Tuesday afternoon. Four others were rescued from the upper storey of the factory premises and rushed to the hospital,said fire brigade officials.
The deceased have been identified as Santosh Omprakash Sharma (35) and his son Shubham (10).
The two had died by the time the Odhav fire brigade reached the spot following an emergency call at 1.20 pm,said officials.
Two of the injured have been identified as Santoshiben Sharma (30) and Tejbhushan Sharma (60).
The police said the exact reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained,adding that forensic experts have collected samples from the site.
The police have registered a complaint and begun further investigations.
