Man held for raping two sisters for revenge

According to an FIR filed by one of the victims at the Sarkhej police station,they were abducted near Khodiar Mandir on Sarkhej-Dholka road on Friday evening while they were on their way to meet some relatives. The 40-year-old woman told the police she had gone there looking her son when Thakore,along with five to six men,dragged them into an auto-rickshaw.

“According to the complainant,Thakore raped her and her sister in his house located close to theirs and then let one of them go on the condition that her sister would be freed only when she brings back his daughter. The woman came to the police station past midnight and narrated her ordeal. Since she was abducted from Sarkhej,we lodged the FIR,” said NS Malik,in-charge police inspector of Sarkhej police station.

According to Malik,Thakore’s daughter (19) has been missing for a month and a complaint in this regard was lodged at Shahibaug police station on January 10. Incidentally,a week after she went missing,Dipak (21),the son of one of the two women,also went missing. Both the victims and the accused are neighbours too.

According to Malik,it is yet to be ascertained that Dipak and the accused’s daughter had eloped.

The officer said Thakore freed the other sister as soon as he came to know that the woman had informed the police.

Thakore has been arrested and the medical report has confirmed rape,Malik said,adding that 10 others have been booked for assisting Thakore in the crime.

Malik said both the sisters were brutally beaten up by the accused and had been admitted to civil hospital for treatment.
