Man arrested with conch shells worth Rs 17,000

The police arrested a man from Marine National Park in Jamnagar and recovered 873 conch shells worth Rs 17,000 from his possession on Friday. According to police,the man identified as Lalji Manji Solanki,a resident of Khatiya Patiya village,Jamnagar district was caught with the conch shells inside the national park from where removing or collecting anything amounts to crime under Wild Life Protection Act. After collecting shells he used to sell them mostly in Delhi and Haridwar,police said.
