What’s it about? Ninja Pandav is a youthful martial-arts saga about five teen experts on a mission to save the world from destruction. It is a classic tale of good versus evil, inspired by the Pandavas from the mythological epic Mahabharata. Chased by the Black Ninjas, these five teen heroes flee their native Himalayas and land up in the city of Mumbai. The challenge is to live amidst the denizens of the city, adjust to the city way of life, while keeping their identities a secret. Their main aim is to protect the all powerful prism and to place it back in the Himalayas.

Who’s in it? The show as the title suggests has five central characters: Arjun (played by Vishal Thakkar),Satya (Sumeet Pathak,Ghattu (Jay Thakkar),Nakul (Sahil Deshmukh) and Sahyadri (Pooja Pihal). The villain on the show Alambush is played by Nawab Shah. Yesteryear Bollywood actor Avinash Wadhawan returns to the small screen and he plays Bheeshma here (the man who trains the Pandavas).

What’s hot? The show is definitely different from the regular soap operas on television. With adventure, strategy and fight sequences involved, the show looks exciting and promising to the viewers. The Himalayan locales look very real. A lot of thought has gone into the formation of these characters. Unlike Hatim and Sonpari, each character is given equal screen time. Pooja Pihal who plays Sahyadri looks trained in martial arts and is very good with her moves. Nawab Shah with an evil laughter looks best suited to play Alambush.

What’s not? A lot of karate stunts and kung fu moves are borrowed from the yesteryear animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The story lacks imagination and it is hugely borrowed from the escapades of the Pandavas in Mahabharata. Wadhawan has probably the worst dialogue delivery and he doesn’t fit into the shoes of Bheeshma. Although the scenes are etched out in detail, the dialogues are very mundane.

Should you be watching it? Only if you have absolutely nothing else to do.
