Boy falls into borewell
Amreli: A four-year-old boy fell into 120-feet deep borewell on Saturday at Maurangi village in Amreli district,said the police.
The boy,identified as Ashwin Lakha Bharwad,fell into the borewell around 4 pm. Rescue operations are underway to save the boy,the police added.

Modi blames Centre for price rise
Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Congress-led UPA government at the Centre was responsible for soaring prices of essential commodities in the state. Modi said this at a public function organised as part of the Garib Kalyan Mela in Mehsana district.
The back-breaking prices of commodities are the gift of the Union government because of which all the dreams of the poor have shattered. While Gujarat government is trying to ease the problems of the poor,the Central government is inflating them further by not controlling price rise, Modi said.

Minor girls kidnapped
AHMEDABAD: Two cases of kidnapping were registered with the city police on Sunday.
In one of the cases,a 17-year-old girl,Sumita Panchal,reportedly went missing on December 25.
The victims family told the police in a complaint filed on Sunday that a distant relative,Ghanshyam, residing at Purshottam Nagar in the Odhav area had kidnapped Sumita.
In another case,parents of a 17-year-old girl,Arti Prajapati,told the Naroda police in their complaint that their daughter was kidnapped by one Dinesh Maali on December 26.
The Naroda police said,Arti,a resident of Karnavatinagar Society,was kidnapped while on her way to her tuition classes in the neighbourhood.
Her parents have told the police that Maali had a fight with the girls father prior to the incident.
The police have registered a case of abduction and taken up further investigations.
