HC relief for top cop

The Gujarat High Court today quashed court proceedings against the IPS officer Kuldip Sharma and inspector D B Barvalia,saying the complaint was lodged with malafide intention and amounted to abuse of process of law.

The Gujarat High Court today quashed court proceedings against the IPS officer Kuldip Sharma and inspector D B Barvalia,saying the complaint was lodged with malafide intention and amounted to abuse of process of law.

The complainant in the case was Jitendra Rajgor,currently posted as a DySP in Kutch (West). In February 2010,Rajgor had filed a case against Sharma and Barvalia in a Gandhinagar local court,accusing them of unlawfully arresting and chargesheeting him on the charge that he was harassing a Mumbai businessman with fake warrants.

Subsequently,Barvalia had moved the High Court.
