GU syndicate polls on Sept 20

Gujarat University’s in-charge Vice-Chancellor Dr Mukul Shah has announced to hold elections for executive council of the university on September 20. The decision to conduct syndicate elections was taken following an order of the Gujarat High Court that had directed to complete the syndicate polls by September 30. The directions came on a petition by former deputy chief minister and Congress leader Harhari Amin.

Several syndicate members had been agitating for the last one month for holding the elections as the term of the existing syndicate body was up to August 20 only.
