The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has directed Torrent Power Ltd (TPL) not to revise the tariff for 2009-10 as the company is required to file its Annual Performance Review (APR) for the same year and tariff proposal for 2010-11,by December 15.

The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has directed Torrent Power Ltd (TPL) not to revise the tariff for 2009-10 as the company is required to file its Annual Performance Review (APR) for the same year and tariff proposal for 2010-11,by December 15.

The GERC order was based on a petition filed by TPL for APR of 2008-09

and determination of tariff and Annual Aggregate Revenue (AAR) for 2009-10 under the multi-year tariff framework.

Based on the 2008-09 AAR,the Commission has revised the AAR for 2009-10.

The net AAR for the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar distribution area has now been revised to Rs 1,945 crore as against the earlier estimate of Rs 2,195 crore.

For Surat, the net AAR has been revised to Rs 1,233 crore as against the earlier estimate of Rs 1,375 crore.

The resultant gap works out to be Rs 41 crore for the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar distribution area and Rs 132 crore for the Surat distribution area.
