Cop assaulted by two while escorting prisoner for treatment

An assistant Sub-Inspector from the Vadodara Central Jail,Hussain Rahimbhai,was beaten up by two unidentified persons while he accompanied a prisoner,Ajmuddin Ansari,for his ophthalmic treatment at the SSG Hospital. The incident occurred at 11.00 am on Saturday.

Raopura police officers said: “The incident took place near the SSG Medical store. The accused were riding a motorcycle,regd no GJ 6 CR 6323. According to Hussain’s testimony,the two accused exchanged glances with the prisoner and approached Hussain. The two did not allow Ansari to go,which led to exchange of expletives and then the two roughed up Hussain.”

Investigation Officer,Sub-Inspector A V Nagori said offences under Section 332,186 and 114 has been lodged against the accused for attacking a government servant and for interfering with his duty.
