Representative imageCongress leaders Ami Ravat and Narendra Ravat along with other party workers were detained while trying to stage a protest over the floods that hit Vadodara in August, on Monday.
The Vadodara city police took the Congress leaders in detention to prevent them from protesting at the venue of the TASL inauguration.
Ami Ravat said, “On one hand, there are areas where there are no roads without potholes and no drinking water as most of the civic body officials were engaged in the preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the other hand, the civic body was washing the roads where the road show was to be held… We wanted to hand over a memorandum to the PM. He had promised the Vishwamitri river project to mitigate floods but not a single proposal has been passed.”
Vadodara City Congress President Rutvij Joshi was also detained by Crime Branch from Congress party’s office to prevent any possible protest.
