On a day when his confidant Amit Shah was chargsheeted by the CBI for murder,Chief Minister Narendra Modi reportedly skipped his office and stayed put at his official home in Gandhinagar,sources said.
The Chief Minister remained in constant touch with his senior party leaders in Delhi,they said.
Tight security at CBI office in Gandhinagar
Tight security arrangements were made at the CBI office in Gandhinagar on Friday. Personnel from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) cordoned off the entrance area outside Block No 11 at the Old Sachivalaya. Officers from different police units,including State Intelligence Bureau,were also guarding the area besides Amit Shahs personal security guards.
Home ministers homes wear a deserted look
After Shah did not appear before the CBI,three teams left for his office and residences in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar respectively. While his Naranpura house was locked,the residence at Gandhinagar wore a deserted look with security personnel standing guard in the 100-metre periphery of his house.
Namesake creates a flutter
As the 1 pm deadline for Shah’s appearance approached,his namesake and former Ahmedabad mayor Amit Shah visited Old Sachivalaya,grabbing attention of mediapersons. He refused to comment on the issue or the reason behind his visit.
