There’s a reason why Vikram Chatwals parties are the hottest the man knows how to bring down the house. Saturday night proved that Vikram knows everybody whos anybody as Mumbais glitterati arrived in droves at the party he hosted at China House,Grand Hyatt,after the runaway success that was his Mai Mumbai show. Ramp walkers Mehr and Arjun Rampal,Rahul Bose,Malaika and Arbaaz Khan and Ujjwala Raut were seen having a grand time along with Bollywood denizens Karan Johar,Sameera Reddy,Shamita Shetty and Lara Dutta. One guest was overheard asking Farhan Akhtar what he does for a living,to which Farhan modestly replied,I act and direct. Cute. Milind Soman,who met old friend and former girlfriend Madhu Sapre at the show,continued to bond with her even at the party. Also seen taking a well-deserved break were Sabina and Anil Chopra and Ravi Krishnan. Preity Zinta was her bubbly self and was heard raving about the party to Vikrams father,Sant Singh Chatwal. In her true blue Mumbaikar spirit,she remarked,This city has given me so much. Im very,very glad that initiatives like this are being taken. We should all give back to this city that has done so much for us, she said.
As house and trance music played on,the guests slurped on delicious house cocktails. Mommy-to-be Malaika was seen avoiding the drinks for obvious reason,but so was Nina Manuel. I dont drink much, explained the leggy model who was a sight for sore eyes in her white Raakesh Agarvwal outfit. Also seen enjoying herself was Pooja Bedi,who came to the party with Parveen Dasanj. The designers too let their hair down and partied into the small hours we spotted Neeta Lulla,Rocky S and Asmita Marwah. Designer Arjun Khanna,whos not showing at the LFW this season,told us,Im taking a sabbatical. Ive showed continuously for so many seasons. Right now,I just want to sit back and have fun.
Bummer Guest of honour Naomi Campbell was MIA. The supermodel had come to the venue,only to be pounced on by the media. Frustrated,she left,much to the disappointment of all who had come there to meet her.
