Surat: The Chairman of Sumul Dairy farm,Manubhai Patel,died of cardiac arrest on Sunday night,his family said today.

Patel (61) had joined Sumul Dairy in 1987 as a director and became its vice-president in 1993. During his tenure,Sumul Dairy received five awards for national production,11 for total quality management,six for energy efficiency and 14 other awards.

He is survived by his wife,two daughters and a son.

WR to run special weekly this festive season

Ahmedabad: Western Railway will run a special weekly train between Bandra Terminus-Hapa-Bandra Terminus to clear the extra rush of passengers this festive season,WR said in an official release on Monday.

Train no 0961 Bandra Terminus Hapa (Weekly) Special will depart from Bandra Terminus at 11.25 pm every Thursday and reach Hapa next day at 3.10 pm from October 28 to November 25.

Train no 0962 Hapa Bandra Terminus (Weekly) Special will depart at 5 pm from Hapa every Wednesday and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 7.55 am the next day. The train will run from October 27 to November 24.

The trains will halt at Borivali,Surat,Vadodara,Ahmedabad,Viramgam,Surendranagar,Wankaner and Rajkot.

The trains will have AC III tier,Sleeper class and General II class coaches,and booking will open on Tuesday,the release added.
