Authorities of the Asaram Ashram have alleged that the inquiry initiated by the state government-appointed Commission chaired by Justice (Retired) D K Trivedi is being misguided and moving in the wrong direction and that depositions of various witnesses on allegedly false facts is tarnishing the image of the Ashram.
Pointing a number of issues which the Commission should look into to ascertain if some Tantrik Vidhi (tantric rituals) are going on in the Ashram or not,one of the senior inmates of Sant Asaram Ashram in Motera,Uday Sangani, has moved an application in this regard before the Commission.
Alleging that certain persons are conspiring to defame the Ashram and tarnish its image by deposing before the Commission,Sangani cited depositions of various persons and stated,The misleading information deposed on oath by…stated witnesses before the Commission resulted into diversion of the inquiry into a complete wrong direction, causing wastage of too much time as well as resources of the Commission.
Sangani has also cited a direction of the Commission to get the details of the Smashan Gruh (burial ground) in Motera to asertain if any children are buried on the banks of Sabarmati river or not. And to this,Motera Nagarpalika furnished details that due to unavailability of suitable place, there is no Smashan Gruh established in Motera to date,Sangani said in his application.
Expressing their sympathies with the parents of the two children who were found dead after going missing from the Ashram-run Gurukul in July 2008,Sangani alleged certain conspirators who have parted their ways with the Ashram are misusing the incident to tarnish and defame the image of the Ashram.
Sangani has also prayed that the investigation of the Commission in the case of deaths of Dipesh and Abhishek should be carried out in the light of scientific reports, postmorterm note and police evidence and that the allegedly defamatory and false depositions of certain witnesses should not be considered by the Commission.
Talking to The Indian Express over phone,Sangani said he had to file the application since certain persons have been misusing and misguiding the Commission. He said the date of hearing for the application is not fixed as yet.
