At least 94 trains that have the Ahmedabad Railway Station in Kalupur as their starting point, destination, or halting point are likely to be affected by the ongoing redevelopment of the premises by Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA).

Four of these trains will be moved to Rajkot Railway station while the terminals for a majority of them will be moved to Sabarmati, Asarwa or Maninagar Railway Stations in Ahmedabad city.

The decision taken by the Railway Board and approved by the ministry on Monday details the new terminals and alternative halts/stoppage points for these trains as the railway platforms at Ahmedabad Railway Station become inoperable, likely by December, with demolition work proceeding at the site.

While the terminals of two trains are to be moved to Sabarmati Railway Station, 12 trains, including the Sabarmati and Karnavati Express, will originate from Maninagar Railway Station.

The memo sent to all Railway zones in the country states that 25 trains will be moved to Vatva Railway Station, including the Jan Sadharan Express and several MEMU special trains.

Four trains, plying between Ahmedabad and Chennai or Puri, will be moved to Asarwa Railway Station in Ahmedabad city.

Four trains, including the Ahmedabad-Pune Duronto Express, are set to be moved to Rajkot Railway Station.
