3 held with explosives

The Narmada Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested three persons and seized 26 kg of ammonium nitrate,143 detonators,a handmade bomb and a 23-metre long fuse — items used in illegal ‘blast fishing’ in the various water bodies of the district.

A fisherman was held with the explosives at Raudh village. According to SOG Inspector K T Tarade,based on the information provided by the arrested fisherman,the police raided Kapad village in Jhagadia taluka of Bharuch district and arrested two more persons,Ashok Vasava and Deepak Vasava.

“There could be more arrests soon,” added Tarade.
