The court of a judicial magistrate (first class) framed charges against Hardik in the case, in which a total of seven persons are accused.
A lawyer connected with the case said a total of three chargesheets have been filed in the case against the seven accused. The case has been posted for further hearing on November 21.
Hardik is facing several charges including unlawful assembly, rioting, use of criminal force against a public servant and criminal conspiracy. It was registered after a symbolic fast programme was organised in the Niko area, allegedly without police permission.
In September this year, the magisterial court issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Hardik after he repeatedly remained absent before the court. The NBW was later quashed by the Gujarat High Court (HC), said the lawyer connected with the matter.
Earlier, Hardik had moved a discharge application in the case which was rejected first by a trial court and then by a sessions court. His quashing petition in the matter is pending before the HC. The HC has not granted any stay and so, the trial court is moving ahead with proceedings.
