Punjab animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian on Tuesday, June 28, directed officials to refer to state-run vet varsity Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University by its full name in official communications or otherwise.
“Taking a strict note over the usage of the abbreviated name of the university, which was established in the name of the second Sikh Guru Sri Guru Angad Dev, Khuddian shot off a letter to principal secretary animal husbandry and vice-chancellor of the university in this regard,” a statement from the Punjab PR department said.
“He asked the principal secretary Vikas Pratap Singh and vice-chancellor Dr Inderjeet Singh to ensure strict compliance in this regard, and make sure that from now onwards nobody should be using the abbreviation to refer Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in written or verbal communications. The minister also asked the principal secretary and VC to take strict action to ensure compliance at every level,” added the statement.
