Varsha Eknath Gaikwad is currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Mumbai North Central constituency and President of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee.
One of the Buddhist MPs in the 18th Lok Sabha, Gaikwad, defeated BJP candidate Adv. Ujjwal Nikam in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
She previously was a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (2004-2024) from Dharavi and has held ministerial roles in Woman and Child Development and School Education in the Government of Maharashtra.
