SC directs RBI to submit loan defaulters list

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): After the hearing of a public-interest litigation (PIL) against public sector organisation Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday informed that the Supreme Court has directed the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to submit details of all the private companies who have more than Rs 500 crore in outstanding dues. The state-owned HUDCO is mandated with building affordable housing and carrying out urban development.

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu announced top ten cities in the order of merit as per the Swachh Sarvekshan commissioned across 75 cities. This is to promote a healthy spirit of competition among the cities. He announced Mysore, Karnataka, as the cleanest city in the country and the other nine cities were Chandigarh, Tiruchirapalli, New Delhi Municipal Council, Visakhapatnam, Surat, Rajkot, Gangtok, Pimpri Chindwad, and Greater Mumbai. Cities with over 10 lakh population were surveyed to check how clean or filthy they were. The Swachh Sarvekshan website has been launched.

New Delhi/Kolkata, Jan 23 (ANI): Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said he did not understand why these documents were hidden from the public for so long. He exclaimed that this is a great beginning and interesting things are coming to the forefront. He added that he is thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for carrying out declassification of files. Supporting the declassification, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed said Congress also demanded declassification of files and there is no question of being embarrassed. He also said that both Congress and Subhas Chandra Bose's aim was to free India. The party has no problem with it. Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen said that there is hardly any mystery. He added that Netaji's vision of equity and justice is badly needed in all spheres of life. Expressing interest in the files declassified by the Centre, he said it was more important to debate Netaji's life and work than his death.

MP CM receives Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship

Singapore, Jan 13 (ANI): Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Chairman of Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship Eddie Teo in Singaporeon Wednesday. CM Singh said that the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy has given fellowship to him. He added that he received this honour not only because of his achievement but also his team’s effort. Singh further stated that he held discussions with S. Iswaran regarding investment opportunities in food processing industry, Renewal Energy and Urban Development investment in Madhya Pradesh.
