The UGC has granted Letters of Intent to top international universities, including University of York and Illinois Institute of Technology, to establish campuses in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The new campuses are expected to begin admissions by December 2026.

CUET UG, PG 2025 Revised Guidelines: The students will be able to appear for CUET UG in a maximum of five subjects as against six previously. However, flexibility in subjects has been introduced from this year.

As per new guidelines, irrespective of the disciplines taken by a student in class 12 or in UG, a student is eligible for admission in any discipline of UG programme or PG programme if the student qualifies the national level or university level entrance examination in the discipline of UG/PG programme.

As part of the new enrollment process, students enrolling in ODL and online programmes will have to first register on the UGC’s Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB) web portals – deb.ugc.ac.in and deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDebId with their Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)-ID and generate a unique DEB-ID.

University Grants Commission has said that biannual admissions are not mandatory, but the decision now provides “flexibility” to institutions; biannual admission system can apply to PhD, postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.

UGC NET June 2024 Application: Once released, candidates will be able to apply at the official UGC NET website -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The registration process for CUET, which started on April 6, will continue till May 6, 2022. The exam is scheduled to take place in July, but the final date has not been announced yet.
