Rejecting criticism over the recent hike in entry fee and other charges at the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve,one of Indias most sought-after tiger destinations,Field Director Vinay Kumar Sinha has said that it has been done to increase revenue to plough back more into villages in the buffer area that have come in for some restrictions due to buffer zones legal regimen.

The first radio-collared tigress in the state that was rescued from an irrigation canal in Bhiwapur tahsil of Nagpur in October last year and released back in the wild in November after 45 days of captivity for treatment here,has been wandering on the edge of the forest for the past nearly 75 days before returning to the same part of the forest landscape after taking a 'U turn,travelling nearly 100 km.

The video showing a tigress chasing a tourist vehicle in the buffer zone of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve( TATR) in Chandrapur district set alarm bells ringing in TATR administration. The road where it happened has been closed for safari rides.
